Professional profileDirector of Product

Director of Product across storage and GPU systems.

I set strategic product direction and work between customer needs, commercial priorities, engineering decisions and the behaviour of the system itself.

Profile

I act as the interface between the people defining the need and the people building and operating the system.

My role is to set direction for products based around storage and GPUs. I question specifications and headline benchmarks when the workload, failure behaviour or operational cost could change the choice. The aim is not to turn product management into engineering; it is to make sure the product decision reflects what the system can actually deliver.

Public evidence of the approach

Ongoing investigation

Strix Halo and local AI

Hardware baselines, runtime comparisons, model checks, long sessions and machine-readable results that keep compatibility, performance and stability separate.

Published reference work

Storage systems

Practical work across NVMe, NVMe-oF, SPDK, RDMA, RoCE and S3, with versions, prerequisites, data-loss boundaries and verification steps.

Public presentation

Ceph Days London 2024

A workload-led explanation of hardware choices, including the operational consequences of recovery, serviceability, memory, networking and failure exposure.
